Evaluation Question 5

Evaluation Question 4

WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE  FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?

For the thriller opening we created, we needed to ensure that our age rating wasn't targeted too low as the situations involved in the thriller film would not be suitable for a younger age audience.

WE CHOSE AN AGE RATING OF '15' FOR OUR THRILLER FILM

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR AGE 15 RATING:

- Could include Strong Language, Violence, Sexual activity, Sexual nudity, Drug use, Discrimination.

BBF - BRITISH BOARD OF FILM

What does the 15 symbol mean?No-one under 15 is allowed to see a 15 film at the cinema or buy/rent a ‘15 rated video. 15 rated works are not suitable for children under 15 years of age.

WHY WE DECIDED ON THE AGE 15 RATING

As a group we considered which age groups would prefer this genre and with the help of our questionnaire results we came to the conclusion of setting the age rating at '15' instead of '18' for our thriller film. During our planning of the task we made sure it would be suitable for 15+ instead of 18+ as this would lead to attracting a larger audience of 15+ up to potentially the ages of 35-40. From our primary research we understand that the majority of audiences enjoy watching a film where justice is taken upon criminals and also including a twist adding to the suspense, as the audience will start to take part in the search for the murder, guessing who it could potentially be. Within our thriller genre we included attractive actors/actresses, knowing that our female audience would fall for the charms of our hero 'Tom Bailey' who is the main character. In the thriller opening the audience suspect that he is the murder but the twist in the tale creates thrill for our characters and the female audience start to fall for our main actor. 'James Bond' is an example of an attractive male hero who attracts a lot of female audiences due to his charm and good looks.

Evaluation: Question 3

We came to a conclusion that the best institute for our thriller film would be Warner Brothers Production. It is a well known institute globally that would attract a mass audience as they distribute there films by advertising new releases and cinema titles on billboards, trailers, adverts and newspapers. The media institute has also been involved in a number of successful films, so loyal audiences of Warner Bros will trust the brand, making them want to watch the thriller film.
